The Land Down Under

We made it! 15 hours on a plane, a little dopey, but in good enough shape to go hang on the beach for the afternoon. Our Aussie friends picked us up at the airport, and then we all headed to Balmoral Beach to sit and relax for a bit. Made a quick pit stop at the bakery to pick up some custard tarts...mmmmm, been waiting for those... and then grabbed some fish and chips and sat on the lawn by the beach and ate. Played in the sand with Laila, dipped our toes a bit (Hal got a little more wet), and enjoyed the sunshine for the afternoon - hot day today, about 31 degrees. After the beach, we drove to a nice little spot, grabbed a drink and a snack, looked around a bit, and as the exhaustion started to set it, we made our way back to the hotel. Had a little rest, and then hit the Concierge lounge in the hotel for some snacks, a couple glasses of wine....and soon it was beddy-bye time.

More fun and excitement planned today. Hal and Laila (Tash has to work..booo) are coming to get us and we're going to Palm Beach - the place where we saw the dolphins 'surfing' last time I was here. Kevin hasn't been there yet, so we're off to check it out. Hoping for more dolphins!!
