Happy Birthday Kevin
We took Kevin's mom into the city with us for his birthday dinner. She was game for anything so we took her to Shoya, a Japanese restaurant that we have been to before. Surprisingly she tried, and enjoyed everything we ordered. , including many types of raw fish!! Mmmmm sushi.
Our evening turned into quite the adventure after dinner. To accommodate our babysitter, and the dinner reservation, we drove part way into the city and then hopped the train from there into the downtown area close enough to walk to the restaurant. Upon returning to the train station after dinner, we realized we had parked in a carpark that closed about 30 mins prior to us arriving....so our car was locked in for the night. So we stood at the taxi stand and waited for a taxi to come take us home. About halfway home, as we were talking about it in the taxi and making a plan of how we were going to get our car tomorrow morning, the cab driver informed us that he had a friend that worked for the carpark and had keys and could get us out, so we had him turn around and take us back to get our car. Sure enough, he called his friend when we got back to the carpark, he came down from his apartment next door and opened the gate for us, letting us drive out free of charge!! What luck!
Suffice to say, that cabbie got a good tip that night for taking us partway home and then back again.
