Flight to Bali - overnight in Hong Kong

Never thought I would say this, but the 14 hr flight to Hong Kong was great. We flew business class on Cathay Pacific (yay air miles) and it was quite the experience; right from the VIP lounge that we hung out in for a few hours before the flight to the comfy seats that recline out to sleep, lots of great movies to watch and the fabulous service. Its impressive how the stewardess' learn your names off their seating charts and address you as Mr and Mrs Akey thru the whole flight. We no sooner got seated and we had champagne in hand to celebrate the start of our vacation. And then the food came....followed by more food...and then some more! Man, do they feed you in first class (not to mention all the free food they had in the lounge that we indulged in before the flight).

We got into Hong Kong at about 8 pm local time. Headed to our hotel (brand new Marriott not too far from the airport), had a quick shower and change of clothes and then took the train into downtown Hong Kong to experience a little of the city. Walked around what seemed to be the party central area of the city. Streets lined with pubs and clubs...and people with drinks in hand. Fun to see. Glad we had a little time and energy to get to see a bit of the sites.

Then it was back to the hotel for a few hours sleep, and back to the airport to catch our flight to Bali.
