Babi Guling

Last full day here. Made came to get us at 10:00 am to drive us back to Ubud for some last minute shopping and of course for the long awaited Babi Guling - roast pig!! As Kevin says - his whole reason for coming to Bali. And yes it was worth it! Wow, was it good. We invited Made to come eat lunch with us, and we each had the 'special' which consisted of roast pig, some crackle from the pig, rice, and a spicy bean and greens side - all VERY yummy! Well worth the wait, but we are sad that we didn't get a chance to eat here more.

We looked around the shops for a bit, bought a few souveniers and presents to take home, and then headed back to the spice and coffee place to pick up a few more items. Then it was back to TJ where we met a couple from the US that had just arrived and was looking for some tips on what to see and do so we shared some stories with them. Afterwards I walked down to the local market store (Hardy's) to pick up a few spices and some rice and sauce to take home (have plans to cook some Indonesian food when I get home). We then got ready for dinner, as we invited Avi and Wita (hotel managers) to come to dinner with us. They picked the place though. Went to a new Indonesian place that opened about a month ago that they like, and we let them order the meal so we could experience some of their favourites. Was a good last Indonesian meal and a great time with our new Bali friends.

Last night at the TJ and last night in Bali. We are homebound tomorrow afternoon.
