Great Barrier Reef at Green Island

We booked a half day tour from Cairns out to Green Island at the edge of the Great Barrier Reef to get in a little snorkelling and beach play.  Connor loved it there so much that we stayed the whole day instead and caught the later boat back.  Connor was so determined to learn how to snorkel.  I think he sat in the shallow water with daddy for about 20 minutes trying to figure out the snorkel. Turned out it was a bit too big for his mouth and he wasn't able to do it without sucking in water so we ditched the snorkel and he just came out with us with the mask.  He was happy to hold his breath while he looked down at the fish.  We even saw a big sea turtle (Connor named him Robbie) that we are able to get really close to, and watched from just above for several minutes.  Such a fantastic day!  Will have to get Connor a proper fitted mask and snorkel when we get home to practice in Hal and Tash's pool!
