Bye Bye Bali

Well, we made it home safe and sound. On Wednesday morning, we both had final massages before our long plane ride. Wita booked us with new people this time - so we could experience javanese massage. And oh was it good. The lady I had was great, and Kevin enjoyed his too.

We had a final lunch at the hotel and then packed up to go. Made came to get us at 1:30 pm to take us to the airport. Avi and Wita have been so kind to us during our stay here at Tandjung Sari. They gave us a little gift at dinner the night before, and Wita went out and bought me a whole bunch of spices to add to my collection to take home for my Indonesian cooking. I am definitely set to cook Balinese style!!

On our flight from Bali to Hong Kong (5.5 hrs), we were on one of the big planes with an upstairs business class section, where we were the only ones up there. It was fabulous - we had our own 2 servers catering solely to us the whole flight. Again, they fed us non-stop and by the time we got on the flight from Hong Kong to Vancouver (no overnighter this time), when they served a 5 course dinner again, we were so full that we had to pass. We both slept in our fully fold down seats for a good part of the trip, which was nice. We have definitely been spoiled traveling business class with the seats that make into beds. Pretty comfy I must say.

Got into Vancouver around 8 pm (what day is it??) and headed to the Air Canada check-in to catch our final plane hop home, and found out that I had booked the flights for the wrong day. Our Cathay Pacific itinerary didn't take into account the time difference (showed us arriving on the 5th, so that's the day I booked the connecting Air Can flight), and didn't realize when booking the tickets that we actually arrive a day before we left....we are scheduled to fly Van-Vic on the 5th.....today is the 4th!!! AHHHH So an additional $200 later (stupid Air Can and their fees), we are on the last flight out to Victoria.

Got home (cat thrilled to see us - hasn't left my side since) around 1 am and we were both wired and messed up from the time difference, so stayed up till about 3:30 am watching TV. Hopefully this jet lag won't last too long...

We had an absolutely FABULOUS time! Loved Bali, the people we met, the things we saw and the place that we stayed (Thanks Cam & Shari). Sure hope to go back soon!
