Bondi Beach & the Movies
Tash took the train into the city this morning to meet me at Circular Quay (Sydney Harbour), and then her and I hopped the train to Bondi Beach (well, walked about a km to get to the beach). Was a beautiful hot sunny day (I'm a little red) and there was quite a few people on the beach...and tons of surfers in the water. Walked along the beach for awhile, stopped at a beachside cafe for a cold drink, and continued our walk up along the headlands. Then took the bus back to the main Bondi shopping area, and walked around in this huge 5 story mall for a few hours. Had lunch in the mall - their foodcourts are definitely not like what we are used to in our malls - some pretty gourmet stands serving up some pretty appealing food.
We then took the train back to our hotel to meet the boys - going to a movie tonight. Picked up Kevin at the hotel and walked up to the movie theatre to meet Hal, who drove in to meet us there. This was no ordinary type theatre. Tash bought us tickets for the gold class cinema (http://www.eventcinemas.com.au/GoldClass) - a theatre with only about 30 seats, and not just seats, but reclining lazy boy type chairs, with a table in between.

The cinema also has its own private lounge and bar, and a menu to order off of to have food and drinks delivered to you while watching the movie. Very cool!! So we sat in our comfy reclined back, feet up chairs, ordered a bottle of wine, appy type food (bread and dips, nachos, chicken skewers with peanut sauce) ice cream sundaes and watched the movie (Fame) in 'rock star' style. Oh, and to top it off, before the show, a group of teenage dancers (who were dancing out in the foyer when we arrived at the theatre) came into the theatre for a pre-movie performance, dancing to 'Fame' and a few other songs! We need to get one of these theatres back home!! Kevin would say complete with the dancers.
