Family vacation to Cabo
Our first family vacation! Gotta get that boy used to traveling!
Connor did fabulous on the planes. Hardly a peep. People on the plane commented after that they didn't even know there was a baby on board, he was so good! That's our little globetrotter!!
Arrived Thursday around 5 pm local time. Caught our private shuttle (senor waiting outside for us with a 'Cheryl Akey' sign) to the hotel - the Barcelo Los Cabos Palace Deluxe. Yes, we broke down and booked an all inclusive for this vacation. Typically not our style, but with a baby, we figured it would be the easiest for a first vacation with him.
Resort is really nice. We are in a deluxe swim-up room, which means the pool is right at our patio - in fact the lounge chairs on our patio are in the water. Got unpacked, dipped our feet in the pool a bit and went for a walkabout around the resort. Experienced the buffet for dinner - not bad, a few yummy dishes, dessert bar sucks though :( Serving staff all love Connor - everyone comes up to see the little 'bambino'! The waitress at breakfast even got to hold him (and then at lunch when we saw her again, we heard her telling others "I got to hold him this morning"). He's the hit of the party!!
Day 2 - hot hot hot. Breakfast at the buffet again, a trip across the street to the Mega store to buy diapers and back to our room for some pool time. Dressed Connor up in his swim diapers and sun suit and in he went with Daddy. Kevin walked around in the pool with him in his arms, and he seemed to enjoy it. Managed to enjoy a few pool side drinks in between feedings and nap time (Bahama Mama and a Mudslide and Sea of Cortez (rum drink) for Kevin), and lunch again at the buffet. Dinner at the Japanese restaurant. A bit of a let down. Food was good, but not spectacular. Both had sushi appetizers and I had the Peking duck as a main and Kevin had the Surf and Turf - Japanese style. Nice bottle of wine though! Connor was pretty good during dinner. Had one meltdown at the beginning so Kevin took him out for a bit of a walk before the food was served, but then was happy the rest of the time bouncing on his lap while he ate. Then it was back to the room for Night Night Time.
