Merry Christmas, Aussie Style!
We have had a wonderful first christmas down under. Hal's family, about 20 people, came over to our Pearl Beach vacation house Christmas Eve for our first christmas dinner. Hal made a turkey and instead of all the normal fixings we are used at christmas turkey dinner, we had potato salad and other cold lighter sides, which was nice in this hot weather. I added in my little piece of Canada, and made a couple pumpkin pies for the aussies to try; many had never had it before, and found it quite yummy!
We sat out on the deck Christmas morning in our jammies opening presents and then headed over to Tash's aunt's house for Christmas dinner number 2. This is what we have been waiting for.....christmas PRAWNS and OYSTERS (and more turkey), followed by a christmas fruit pavlova. Still not feeling like Christmas, but enjoying it nonetheless. Can't complain about swimming in a pool and eating prawns in the sun on Christmas day!!
