Au Revoir France, Hello Tuscany!

We packed up and said good-bye to Chris and Aban, and returned our little car, and hopped the train. What a beautiful train ride, with spectacular views – we are cruising right along the coast line for most of the way, through Cannes, Antibes, Nice, and onto the Italian coast, which had the best views. Was absolutely gorgeous! We made all our train connections, met a really nice guy on the leg from Nice to Genova who was from India (Delhi). Kevin and him had some good conversation about the industrialization of India, and about European history. A good way to pass the time. We caught our last leg to Pisa, caught a taxi to the airport to pick up our rental car (which was no easy feet to get to – stood around for almost an hr waiting for a taxi, until finally us and another English speaking couple persuaded the shuttle van to take us all to the airport – we had talked to him earlier but we would not take us). We were given a VW Golf (good little car), and off we go in the dark on our adventure to find our villa. We find our way to the Autostrad quite quickly and find we are going in the right direction (man, I hope we can get our key), however miss our first turnoff, and it takes us about 30 mins to get turned around. Going in the right direction, we make all the rest of our turnoffs (its going to be later than 11pm – I hope we can get our key), we continue driving, as the road gets windier and steeper. Kevin says this is almost like driving in Switzerland, they do not tell you how fast you should go around the corner, and all of a sudden it’s a 90 degree turn. Good thing there is not much traffic!
We finally find the place (its 11:30), and no one is around….what do we do now????
Head back to the nearby village and find a hotel. No villa for us tonight (I hope we can get our key tomorrow).
