Whitehaven Beach
Did a half day tour today which consisted of a snorkel and a few hours on Whitehaven Beach. The snorkeling was a big letdown, as it was low tide and the water was very very murky, so couldn't see anything. Most people just stood around in the water at waist depth and peered at the reef from the surface. Whitehaven, on the other hand was beautiful! The sand is amazing - 98% pure silicon - the only beach in the world with such pure sand. It's just like flour. I thoroughly enjoyed just sitting for the hour we had there in the sun digging my feet into the sand. Headed back to the island, took a swim in the pool and headed out to the Mariner restaurant for dinner. The three of us split the seafood tower, which consisted of oysters, huge prawns, calamari, crab, lobster, and some other local crustations, along with an order of mussels. Quite divine!!
