Massage Day, with another scenic drive

We went for 90 minute massages today, which were really nice. Enjoyed a nice traditional hawaiian lunch on the beach in Lahaina, and browsed around in a few touristy shops.
We then drove the Northern loop road, north of Lahaina, up and around to Kahului. What a drive. Beautiful scenic views - a lot different terrain than the drive to Hana (lots of red lava rock cliffs), which was nice, but talk about narrow roads. About 12 miles of the 25 mile road was a one lane, windy, hairpin turns, cliff hanging road, with no visability to see if anyone is coming the other way. Luckily the few vehicles we met were in areas where the road was wide enough to pass. I'm not sure how some of those other areas would have been if we would have met an oncoming car. I wasn't even sure our big monster "pimp mobile" as we call it, was going to fit on the road without falling over the cliff. Quite the drive! And the tee-shirts here say "I survived the road to Hana" - that's a piece of cake drive compared to this one. Again, beautiful scenary. As scary as a few areas were, it was worth it for the views!
Made it back to Kihei to our condo, and headed to the superb sushi restaurant here at the resort, which is I think is the best sushi place we have been to - we now know the staff personally, as we have been there ever second night since we got to the island. They shake our hand now when we come in and say "welcome back again" and "see you tomorrow"....And we plan to go back on Thurs again - still a few more things to try on the menu.
