I trip to Whistler, hanging with the Aussies, more colds...Is it Spring yet?
Connor and I headed up to Whistler for a couple of days to join the Aussies and our other friends, who were up there together for a couple of weeks. The plan was for us to come up for an extended period of time too, but with Kevin's workload and travel, it didn't work for him to take time off for us all to go. Coincidently, Connor's daycare was closed (she went on vacation to Ethiopia to take her adopted daughter to see her birth family) during the last week the Aussies were here, so being off work anyway, I decided to take him and go up to the skihill for a few days.
Was great to see the aussies again (although it hadn't been that long since we saw them in Nov in Bali), and great to get in one day of skiing. Connor was sick again the first couple of days we were there, so stayed behind in the condo with him during the day while the others skied. He was feeling better by the end of the week, so I put him in daycare at the hill and went out skiing for the day. It was a fabulous sunny day, the runs were great. Had an awesome day on the hill. And apparently Connor had a really good day at the daycare. They took him (and the 2 others in daycare that day) up the gondola to play in the snow, which I presume was quite fun for him. They really have a great daycare program at the hill. Was glad he had a good day, cause Mommy had a great time skiing!!
We headed into Vancouver with the aussies for the weekend, and Kevin came over and joined us. Was nice that he got to spend a little bit of time with them too. We booked a night at the Marriott downtown, hired a babysitter through the hotel for Connor and Laila, and went out for a fabulous dinner with the aussies on the last night of their Canadian stay. Always great to see them and enjoy good food and great company! Glad we had the opportunity to all get together, even though it was for a short weekend stay in Vancouver.
Connor has still been sick a lot this past month. Really hoping our daycare lady doesn't decide to give up on him and kick him out of her daycare. She's had a really hard time with him not being happy, but she understands that it is likely because he has just not been feeling well the past few months (at least I hope she does)! Come on sickness, be gone!! I want my happy healthy little boy back!
