Trip to Denver
Kevin and I both booked a week off of work to take a mini vacation down to Denver...for 2 reasons. One - to visit his sister and her family, and two - to check out the city, as we are considering a move there. With housing and living costs being so high in Victoria, and Kevin's travel for work always a hassle getting on and off the island, we've decided it might be time for a change. Denver came to us as a possibility, as its centrally located, so a convenient city for Kevin to travel to and from, and its a place where we have family. If we are going to move to a new city/new country, nice to go somewhere that we at least will know someone!
Spent the week doing a lot of driving around the city, getting a feel for the area, and checking out different parts of the city to decide which areas we like best. We met with a realtor and actually looked at a few houses in an area that we both really liked, just to get a feel for the market. We both came home quite optimistic and excited about a potential move there. We could see ourselves living there for a bit. A new adventure!!
Had a nice visit with Jude, Michelle and Mason, who's almost 7. Between us driving around all day checking out the city, and them working most of the week, we didn't actually get to spend a great deal of time together, but we had a day together at the zoo the day after we arrived, and a lovely dinner out for sushi the last night we were there. Weather was fantastic, hot and sunny every day. Apparently they get an average of 300 days of sunshine a year!!! Hmm, I like the sound of that!!
