en Provence
Here we are in the Provence region of France. Took the TVG south today from Paris for a 3 hr tour of the countryside. Terrain was rolling plains with scatters villages and fields. Not quite what I imagined, but pretty nonetheless. I was expecting to see more vineyards, which we did not see much of. Guess those are farther up in the hills, not alongside the railway tracks!
Hopped in our iddy biddy rental car (you'd think a small car would suck, but with the narrow roads, and no shoulders, it's quite the blessing being in a tin can), and found our way to our villa apartment, making a few wrong turns along the way, but arriving in one piece. Apartment and grounds are very nice. Our living room looks out a large patio door to a quiet grassy area - quite lovely. We have a large table and umbrella right outside out door too, so we can sit out and enjoy our own private back yard. There is a pool too, however, its only 21 degrees, so I think I will only be toe dipping. Kevin may brave it though.
We are about a 2 minute drive from the village of Eguilles, which we will venture off to tommorow to check out; however, apparently on Sunday, most things are closed. Will be a change of pace from the big city life of Paris, although quite welcoming! We are looking forward to checking out what the countryside has to offer over the next week.
